The British Embassy and the Government of Tanzania hope to hold a second business conference to identify business opportunities and investments that will help increase sales of goods abroad.

Speaking at the launch of the conference today in Dar es Salaam, Deputy Secretary General Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade Ally Gugu said the conference will be held on November 29, 2022 in Dar es Salaam and will bring together more than 100 businessmen from those countries.

He said the businessmen will recognize the benefits of business and investment in sharing knowledge about doing business in the country where it is beneficial for Tanzania to increase exports to the UK.

"Considering the commitment from last year's conference, this year we will include several sessions to share information and debates...

...there will also be a panel involving business and investment experts, to help improve the dialogue between the government and the private sector to increase the confidence of the potential and business" he said

Gugu named those who will lead the conference as the British Prime Minister's delegate for business in Tanzania, Lord Walney and the Minister of State, Office of the President, Work, Economy and Investment Zanzibar Mudrik Ramadhani Soranga

He added by saying that there will be the Deputy Trade Commissioner for Africa, Alistair Long and a delegation of more than 24 British businessmen to find opportunities and strengthen relations.

He said that a joint work plan will be signed with the speeches of business investment ministers from mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

The Prime Minister's representative Walney also said he was happy to return to Tanzania, bringing a group of British businessmen to further strengthen trade and investment and bring prosperity to all sides.

"Tanzania has made great strides in helping investors and businessmen like those present here today, who contribute to Tanzania's economic potential," he said.
