The 55th session of the Executive Council and the 25th session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Defense Organization (UNCDO) were held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The head of the international relations department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel Erguc Kalantarli, took part in the sessions.

According to the news reported by APA referring to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the 55th session of the Executive Council, held on November 22-23, the Secretary General of the Organization Mrs. Mariatu Yap, in accordance with the Action Program adopted at the 24th session of the General Assembly of UNM, in accordance with the 54th session of the Executive Council presented a report on the measures implemented by the United Nations and its Permanent Secretariat, including the financial support provided to the member countries, after the th session.

In addition, during the session, the internal regulations and organizational structure of the Scientific-Educational Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization were approved, and the draft curriculum for 2023 was presented to the member countries.

Speaking at the session, the head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colonel Erguc Kalantarli, expressed his gratitude to the Secretary General of the UNMIK Mrs. Mariatu Yap for the technical support provided within the framework of the relevant project in strengthening the educational and material-technical base of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. gave detailed information to the session participants about the availability of favorable opportunities for holding regional and international trainings, seminars and trainings.

In addition, at the 25th session of the General Assembly held on November 24, the session participants were informed about the activities of the Organization and its Permanent Secretariat during the reporting period, as well as Vanuatu's accession to the United Nations as a new member country.

At the same time, the Secretary General brought to the attention of the meeting participants the table of expenses and incomes of the United Nations in 2022, the new budget of the Organization approved by the Executive Council, including the membership fees of the member countries.

In addition, within the session, the Internal Charter and organizational structure of the Organization's Training Committee were approved, and the draft of the training plan for 2023 was presented to the representatives of the member countries.

At the end of the session, opinions were exchanged on the issue of membership in the Executive Council of UNM, and the new composition of the Council was determined.

Thus, Azerbaijan was re-elected as a member of the Executive Council of the United Nations for the period of 2022-2026.

In addition, elections for the positions of President and Vice-President of the General Assembly were held in the session.
