On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov, a visit was made to the grave of the famous Azerbaijani composer in the Alley of Honor.

APA reports that representatives of the Ministry of Culture, artistic friends of the composer, as well as a number of public representatives took part in the visit.

First Deputy Minister of Culture Vagif Aliyev said that today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fikret Amirov, one of the bright faces of our national culture, a huge and very memorable, who left a big mark: "We can say even today that he is always alive.

Fikret Amirov's works open the way to our hearts.

His music has been played in many countries, in many halls, and can be heard in all corners of Azerbaijan.

The name of Fikret Amirov has been immortalized.

Although Fikret Amirov is not himself, his music keeps him alive.

Fikret Amirov's works based on national music have been performed in many well-known concert halls of the world."

It should be recalled that Fikret Amirov was born on November 22, 1922 in Ganja, in the family of Mashadi Jamil Amirov, a well-known singer and style artist.

He was awarded high honorary titles and state awards such as People's Artist of Azerbaijan and the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor.

Fikret Amirov died on February 20, 1984 in Baku.
