The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) appealed to the population about the danger of carbon monoxide.

APA reports that the application states:

"In light of the increasing demand for natural gas by the population due to the cooling of the weather and the approach of the winter season, the violation of safety rules during the use of gas appliances increases the danger of carbon monoxide. Despite the mass education activities carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in order to prevent the danger caused by carbon monoxide, it should be noted with regret that still reports of tragedies caused by this threat are coming in.

Taking into account the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds once again the need to follow the following safety rules in order to avoid the danger of carbon monoxide:

• the gas appliance must comply with the rules and standards;

• the height of the space with the device should not be less than 2 meters 20 centimeters;

• the ventilation system must work, the breather must be open;

• there should be ventilation pipe in the bathroom, holes below the door;

• chimneys should be cleaned twice a year.

Remember it!

Carbon monoxide is odorless, it is not felt!

Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning: headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness.

In case of carbon monoxide poisoning, it is necessary to immediately remove the victim to fresh air, remove clothes that make it difficult for him to breathe, and call for emergency medical help!

Remember: Indifference to the rules is a danger to our lives!

Call 112 in an emergency!"
