Playing videos with YouTube is coming with a new change!

In order to allow users to better remember the "YouTube" brand when playing video content on the YouTube platform, Google announced on YouTube's official blog that it will add a short opening sound effect and animation of about 3 seconds before playing the video. Let users know that the movie is ready to play when they hear and see this specially designed sound effect.

In fact, a similar approach has already been used on Netflix and Disney+ video streaming platforms.

For example, after clicking on a Netflix video to play, a simple and powerful "Tudum" sound effect will appear immediately after the video is loaded, making the user aware that the video is ready to play; as for Disney+, it uses a long sound paired with a short sound "Tudum" sound effects.

And on the YouTube platform, there will also be an exclusive "sound effect" recognition before playback, bringing users a refreshing viewing experience.

Google said that the "sound effects" to be played on the YouTube platform were created by Antfood, a well-known creative sound studio. The company's cooperative clients include: Apple, Starbucks, Pepsi and other well-known international brands.

This time, Antfood designed an exclusive playback sound effect called "YouTube Sound" for YouTube, which only lasts about three seconds. It reflects that there are four main aspects of the design behind it, namely: "Human" to convey human emotions, "Connected "Reflects the sound of connecting interests and people and cultures, "Expressive" has a bright rhythmic sound from near to far, and "Story-driven" has short notes with a narrative parabola.

In addition, the above-mentioned sound effects are accompanied by a short animation effect recognition with the YouTube brand as the main visual, all of which are intended to strengthen users' deeper brand impressions on the YouTube streaming platform.

Google said that the new "playing sound effect" has been first implemented on the YouTube app played on the big TV screen, and will soon be implemented on other devices, such as mobile phones, computers, etc., and is expected to be implemented in the next few weeks to months.
