Apple could switch to USB-C as soon as next year's iPhone 15.

In response to the new EU regulations, Apple will switch to the USB-C interface for the iPhone 15 next year at the earliest. Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst, once again stated that according to his latest survey, the iPhone 15 will officially abandon Lighting and switch to USB-C.

However, if Apple fans expect the transmission speed to be fully upgraded after the iPhone 15 adopts USB-C, I am afraid they will be disappointed!

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, only two high-end models, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will have high-speed transmission specifications, while the other two basic iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will maintain the same transmission speed as the existing Lightning. It is equivalent to staying in the USB 2.0 era.

Analysts again revealed that there are class distinctions in changing the iPhone 15 to USB-C.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected to support at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 specifications; this means that the experience of iPhone wired transmission and image transmission will be significantly improved in the future.

However, if the transmission speed is not fully upgraded as analysts said, you don’t have to be too surprised, because Apple has already established a class distinction on USB-C. This year’s latest 10th generation iPad followed other iPads to adopt USB- C, but the transmission speed is only USB 2.0, up to 480Mbps, which is not as good as other models, and only the M1 and M2 iPad Pro can enjoy the highest speed in the whole series.
