[Reporter Tu Yingru/Taipei Report] In the Taiwan Arts and Crafts Culture Park stands a group of rare old poincianas in China, accompanying Taiwanese crafts and community residents through a period of sixty years, forming a collective memory of the coexistence of nature and humanity.

Because the poinciana tree is old and needs maintenance and health care, the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center therefore launched the "Old Phoenix‧Tree Doctor" citizen green action, inviting tree doctors to diagnose and treat trees, and under their advice, rectify the growth base of the poinciana, To provide better root growth conditions, renew the roots of old trees, and protect the health of old trees.

Zhang Renji, Director of the Craft Center, Zhan Fengchun, a tree doctor, Kang Yiqian, a bamboo installation art creator, and Liu Zhaoming, a bamboo artist, jointly loosened the soil for the Phoenix tree at the press conference for the launch of the project a few days ago, proclaiming "Old Phoenix Tree Doctor" The citizens' green action will be launched from now on, and it will be dismantled during the severe period of Wuhan pneumonia (new coronavirus, COVID-19). Make organic materials that assist the growth of old poinciana and protect the health of old trees, complete its life cycle, practice the value of natural and circular green craftsmanship, and be friendly to the environment.
