Recently, some schools have started to announce innovations.

Parents are warned in chat rooms that there will no longer be free lunches for beneficiaries - teachers refer to new methodical instructions, writes Onliner.

In Belarus, in primary classes, all children are fed free breakfast, the parents have to pay for the rest of the meals - lunch and afternoon tea.

Starting from the 5th grade, meals are already fully paid for, including breakfast.

Children from large families and disabled children were always given free food as a benefit.

In primary school, in addition to breakfast, students are fed lunch and afternoon tea, after the 5th grade - only breakfast and a free lunch.

- The school informed that from today free lunches are not provided to children from the 4th grade.

We already have a third child going to school, since 2011 there has been a discount, but lunches have been canceled only now, and from the second quarter, - writes the mother of a young high school student.

"At our school, free lunches were canceled at the beginning of the school year," says Alena, also a mother of many children.

- If a child spends less than 6 hours at school, lunch is not provided.

That is, children who do not go to the extension, now only have breakfast.

Many of our parents were outraged.

I have a daughter in the extension, so we have lunch and afternoon tea.

But, as the journalists found out, not all schools are discussing the cancellation of free lunches.

For some, everything remains the same: even if the child does not go to the extended day group, he receives a free lunch.

This is how the director of the 37th gymnasium in Minsk,

Iryna Danyankova

, explained the situation :

"Amendments were made to the 317th resolution of the Council of Ministers in the summer.

Pupils who are in the educational institution for more than 6 hours (that is, enrolled in the extended day group) are provided with 2 meals free of charge.

This applies to preferential categories of families.

But in the primary school there are children who are in the gymnasium for 5 hours, respectively, they only have free breakfast.

After the 5th lesson, they go home and have lunch there, it is logical.

Children who are enrolled in the extended day group are in the gymnasium for more than 6 hours, so they are provided with 2 or 3 meals, depending on the category."

As Iryna Danyankova added, this applies to absolutely all schools, just not everywhere immediately paid attention to the changes.

"In fact, we fed the children for free in violation.

Therefore, today the educational institution will compensate the state for the difference, because there was an incorrect interpretation of the law," explained the director.
