Within the framework of the "From Fire to Green" campaign jointly organized by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, reforestation measures continue in the forest fund lands of the country that have been affected by fire.

Today, 350 kilograms of seeds were sown in the area of the forest fund of Guba region that was affected by fire with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, employees of the Guba Regional Forestry Center, IDEA Public Union and ETSN volunteers.

During the campaign jointly organized by IDEA Public Union and ETSN, oak, beech, beech, maple, elm, sycamore, linden, sycamore, grown in the nursery areas of forestry farms, suitable for the soil and climate conditions of each region, were planted in the fire-exposed areas of the forest fund lands. Unfortunately, forest fires occurred in different regions of the country as a result of hot and dry weather conditions, mainly the human factor, and careless behavior in the summer season, and hectares of forest land were damaged by fire.

In recent years, due to global warming against the background of climate changes, forest fires are increasing on the planet, and their scale is expanding every year.

In these conditions, people's careless behavior with fire and neglect of greenery causes more areas to be exposed to fire, greater consequences, including the destruction of trees, the environment and biodiversity, and agricultural areas are seriously damaged.

For this reason, landowners, farmers, tourists and all citizens should follow fire safety rules and not allow situations that create conditions for fires.

Areas covered with forests make up 11.8% of the territory of Azerbaijan.

Forests provide us with clean air and healthy spaces.

They clean water, protect our soil from erosion, flooding and other threats, regulate local and global climate conditions, host 80% of our planet's flora and fauna, absorb 1/3 of the carbon dioxide produced by fuel use, and help us fight climate change. helps.

Forest resources make a great contribution to the economic development of our country, especially the regions, and to the livelihood of people in general.

With all this in mind, reforestation and extension activities contribute to the achievement of many Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 3 (Health and well-being), Goal 13 (Climate change), Goal 15 (Protection of soil ecosystems) and others. .

The organizers of the "Fire to Green" campaign call on everyone to protect our forests, which are an irreplaceable source of life, and to support the sustainable future of our country and planet.
