[Reporter Tu Yingru/Taipei Report] Kaohsiung's "Neiwei Art Center" will start its trial operation on November 11. Among them, the first open restoration center in an art venue in Taiwan, established in cooperation with the Cultural Relics Restoration Center of Zhengxiu University of Science and Technology, attracts attention. At present, there are regular restoration staff lectures, art consultations and experience guided activities, etc., which allow the audience to directly consult and communicate with professional cultural protection personnel. The public can usually watch the professional restorer’s work process through the large glass floor-to-ceiling windows. Painting established a volunteer team for the maintenance of outdoor sculptures.

The Neiwei Art Center has an open restoration center in Taiwan's first art and cultural venue, where the public can stop and watch the restoration process.

Shi Zhe, Deputy Mayor of Kaohsiung City, said that the Neiwei Art Center is the key piece of the Kaohsiung City Government's implementation of the "Great Museum Project" since 2016. The Kaohsiung Museum of History and the Kaohsiung Film Museum are jointly operated to give full play to the space planning, collection expertise and curatorial power of Kaohsiung’s professional cultural institutions.

The first open art restoration center in Taiwan, which is set up in a cultural venue, shoulders the social responsibility for the preservation and maintenance of the collected works, and further expands the diverse value and publicity of the urban collection.

Kaohsiung City Cultural Director Wang Wenchui said that Neiwei Art Center cooperates with the local Zhengxiu Cultural Relics Maintenance Center in Kaohsiung, and invites professional restorers to enter the museum in the form of public display. Preservation, maintenance, education promotion and talent training, etc.; the works under restoration at this stage are all in the collection of the Gaomei Museum, including Qiu Runyin's Self-Portrait, Zhang Jinfa's "Cat's Nose" and Li Junxian's "Kaohsiung Port". works of local artists.

The Restoration Center provides a half-hour guided tour service (20 people per session) every Sunday afternoon.
