From September 8, 2022, the new king of Great Britain is the eldest son of Elizabeth II - Charles, who, according to the idea, should move to Buckingham Palace after the coronation.

But this is unlikely to happen.

Currently, Charles and his wife Camilla continue to live in Clarence House, their London residence, where they have lived since 2003.

But even after the coronation, their move to Buckingham Palace is not planned, as a five-year reconstruction will take place there, and the renovation will be completed no earlier than 2027.

However, Buckingham Palace will remain the place where Charles will carry out many of his royal duties.

It is here that his weekly audiences will take place and are already taking place.

In his short reign, Charles has already had two prime ministers and this week he accepted the resignation of Liz Truss and tasked newly minted Prime Minister Rishi Sunak with forming a government.

The Royal Standard flag will fly over both Buckingham Palace and Clarence House when King Charles is in London, The Sunday Times reported.

It is also known that the king will spend several days a week at Windsor Castle, and on weekends he will go to Sandringham.

By the way, it is in Sandringham that the royal family usually spends its winter holidays.
