The date has fans of Meghan and Harry in a frenzy.

It is not known now whether the couple will be able to attend the coronation of the king, because if so, they will have to either take the children with them to Great Britain, or leave son Archie on his birthday with Meghan's mother or a nanny.

The king's coronation is called Operation Golden Sphere.

The service will traditionally take place in Westminster Abbey, but there will be significant changes to its format.

We talked about them in more detail earlier.

It is also known that Charles's wife, Queen Camilla, will be crowned on the same day, who will wear a crown with the most famous diamond in the world.

We decided to remember how the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II took place on June 2, 1953, which, by the way, was attended by little Charles, who was only five years old at the time.

And in 1937, the 11-year-old Princess Elizabeth watched the coronation ceremony of her father, King George VI, who ascended the throne after King Edward VIII's brother signed a manifesto on December 10, 1936 to abdicate the throne.

Queen Elizabeth II's grandfather, King George V, was crowned on June 22, 1911, in Westminster Abbey.

And together with him, Queen Maria (known as Maria Tekska) was crowned.

By the way, Mary loved her granddaughters - Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, and when Elizabeth became queen in 1952, before her death, Mary of Thek asked that the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953 not be postponed due to her death.

Queen Mary died on March 24, 1953, and Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2 of the same year.

And Elizabeth's great-grandfather, King Edward VII, was crowned on August 9, 1902, together with his wife, Queen Alexandra.

Edward's reign began in January 1901 after the death of his mother, Queen Victoria.

Before ascending the throne, the Prince of Wales was better known by his first name, Albert (he was called Bertie, as Elizabeth II's father was later called), and his mother (in memory of her late husband) wanted her son to reign under the name Albert-Edward I. But because there were no kings of Great Britain named Albert (and, more importantly, the name was considered German by many Englishmen) and there were no precedents for the use of double names, the throne name of Victoria's successor the second name became Eduard.
