The National Theatre originally had 2 lanes with a total of 4 entrances and exits, but due to the clutter of the moving lines, it was later decided to abolish one of the lanes, and the other lane that remained in use was changed to 1 in and 1 out.

The waste lane has been in a dusty state for more than 20 years and is occasionally used for special exhibitions. This time it is the main exhibition venue of "Parallel Theater".

Zhou Lingzhi said, "The 35th anniversary is a point to look back, trying to suspend the development of halls and performing arts that have been recognized. It is not a linear forward history, but a synchronic possible connection and mutuality in multiple time perspectives. Dialectical.” Under this concept, we visit the once endowed meanings and possible hidden memories, thereby opening up new readings and questions, allowing the archives to talk to each other and write again.

Wang Junyan pointed out, “In each project, the curator of Hall 35 tries to escape from the existing understanding of the classification of performing arts, and uses keywords to be independent and interactive to agitate and ask questions. On the other hand, it also tries to broaden the understanding and reading boundaries of performance aesthetics.”

Among the three major areas of "Parallel Theater", the document exhibition will use the underground waste lane on the side of Aiguo East Road as the main exhibition venue. For the first time, the collections of the Performing Arts Library are used as curatorial materials, such as stills, videos, various drama reviews and reports, etc. , invites the viewer to re-examine and explore the problem consciousness behind the cultural and historical archives.

In the performance section, aiming at the three major propositions of "classic", "experimental" and "traditional", Gao Junyao, a poor theater, was invited to bring "Too Lonely Hustle" (classic) in the theater's set factory; Zheng Yinzhen will perform art books in the two halls and theaters. The pavilion presents "Forgetting My Mind" (experimental); Xu Baiang in the theater theater will perform "I Haven't Played for a Long Time" (traditional).

The forum section is titled "Performance Keywords Revisiting History", and plans 4 forums, inviting Wang Anqi, Wang Molin, Rong Nianzeng, Huang Zongyi, Zheng Huihua, Yao Liqun, Chen Jieren, Wang Wenyi, etc. to discuss how "emotion" becomes a theater The common consciousness of performance; how "freedom" is defined and redefined in different time and space contexts; how "experiment" has become the cognition and cultivation of creators and theater practice; what is the West, modernity and "world", and Taiwan's performance is included in it What kind of role?
