Apple was spotted making a last-minute decision on the naming of the iPhone 14 Plus.

Apple's new-generation iPhone 14 series went on sale on the 16th of this month, and the iPhone 14 Plus will not be released until October 7th. Recent evidence shows that Apple really decided to return the Plus name at the last minute.
Before the release of the iPhone 14 series, the outside world always used the iPhone 14 Max to refer to the iPhone 14 Plus. Later, it was revealed that in order to distinguish it from the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the real name was the iPhone 14 Plus. Since the iPhone 8 series, the Plus title has been used again.

The Dutch website iCreate dug up evidence from Apple’s website that Apple did name the 6.7-inch basic large iPhone after the iPhone 14 Max. In the picture, the name that appears in the download file is "iPhone-14-max-colors"; in addition, there are traces in other small parts of the website.
