Gul Akbarova, a resident of Shabran district, who wanted to cross into Georgia illegally, was detained by the State Border Service (SBS).

APA informs that the detained person crossed the river in the village of Poshtbina of Balakan region and moved towards Georgia.

After being detained by the border guards, a criminal case was initiated against Gul Akbarova under Article 29 318.1 of the Criminal Code (attempt to illegally cross the state border of Azerbaijan).

In his testimony in court, the accused said that he went to Turkey and crossed the border to see his daughter who lives there.

"My 14-year-old daughter lives in Turkey with her father. I haven't seen my daughter since the land borders were closed because I don't have the opportunity to go by plane. First I wanted to go to Georgia, and then to Turkey. I entered the forest and took a rough direction, I went towards the Georgian border. after leaving, there was a border fence. I thought I could cross it and cross to Georgia. At that time, "Stop!"

By the decision of the Sabail District Court, Gul Akbarov was found guilty and sentenced to a fine of 750 manats.
