Cauliflower, like broccoli, is one of the most useful foods in the diet.

A gratin made from these vegetables can be a great stand-alone dish or side dish.

And in the case of a good presentation, it can even decorate the festive table.

components

  • broccoli - 1 head

  • cauliflower - 1 head

  • butter - 5 tbsp.

    l.

  • onion - 1 pc.

  • garlic - 1 clove

  • flour - a quarter of a glass

  • milk - one and a half glasses

  • cream - half a glass

  • nutmeg - a quarter tsp.

  • salt and pepper

  • grated hard cheese - 1 cup

  • parmesan cheese - an incomplete glass

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.

Finely chop the onion and garlic, separate the cauliflower and broccoli into small florets.

In a saucepan, sauté the onion in one tablespoon of oil until translucent, 4 to 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for another 1 minute.

Add the remaining 3 tablespoons of oil to the pan and melt completely.

Stir in the flour to combine.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture is light golden, 2 to 3 minutes.

Gradually add the milk to the saucepan, stirring with a whisk.

Add the cream, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, until the sauce is quite thick, 5-7 minutes.

Season the sauce with nutmeg, salt and pepper.

Add the broccoli and cauliflower to the pan and toss well to coat.

Pour the vegetable-soy mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Moderately sprinkle the surface with two types of cheese.

Bake until cheese is golden, 35 to 40 minutes.

Remove the gratin from the oven and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
