New details have emerged of Harry and Meghan's move from Kensington Palace as their offices split from Cambridge.

It is claimed that the couple expected to get apartments at Wandsore Castle, but the Queen allocated them Frogmore Cottage instead.

According to Lady Elizabeth Anson, who was a close friend of the Queen and died in 2020, the monarch made a "generous gesture" by giving them the cottage instead, the Mirror writes.

This speculation was published in a book written by Katie Nicholls, which explores the relationship between Harry, Meghan, William, Kate and King Charles III.

An extract published by MailOnline quoted Lady Elizabeth as saying: "The cottage was a big event. The Queen's entrance to the garden was next to their cottage. It's basically her backyard, her retreat. We all thought it was very important of her." .

She said, "I hope they appreciate it," but as we know now, they haven't.
