Niyaz Niftiyev, who was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Press Council at the 8th congress of Azerbaijani journalists held on September 24, submitted his resignation today due to his workload.

APA reports that an extraordinary meeting of the Management Board of the Press Council was held in this regard.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers, editor-in-chief of "525 newspaper" Rashad Majid informed about the issue on the agenda.

He justified the importance of sensitive treatment of N. Niftiyev's resignation in terms of speeding up the adjustment of the Council's structure and future division of activities.

When the issue was brought up for discussion, it was said that N. Niftiyev was elected to the Board of Directors as a candidate of journalists at the 8th congress.

Since Aflatun Amashov, who was elected as a member of the Council of Ministers, was appointed the editor-in-chief of "Khalq newspaper" and also headed the Council of Ministers as a journalist candidate for many years, it was decided to include him in the list of journalist representatives.

The Board of Directors of the Municipal Council made a decision to include Yegane Hajiyeva, head of the Institute of Young Democrats, political scientist, who received the most votes from public representatives, into the Board of Directors.
