In order to overcome the energy crisis, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called for saving.

However, the reductions got tougher, since the Kosovar Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) has dropped the A3 block.

Kurti, in the General Council of the Vetëvendosje Movement, said that even though they allocated 100 million euros to reduce the cost of energy, the price continues to increase.

"We need an open and honest debate between us about the situation we are in and the challenge we face so that during the winter we can focus on what is possible and above all energy saving", Kurti called, writes Telegraph.

"We have already allocated 100 million euros to soften the impact of the increase in energy bills for citizens, but the price of energy is constantly increasing", he added.

Immediately after this call, KEDS comes out with the announcement that there will be a deterioration of the energy situation in the country, since the A3 unit of the "Kosova A" power plant has gone out of operation.

According to them, less than 400 megawatts of electricity are currently being produced in the country.

In order not to worsen the situation with electricity, KEDS asks consumers to save it.

"Currently, the restrictions are for two hours, but so that the situation does not get worse, we ask all consumers to save electricity as much as possible.

Using it efficiently means that we all have more electricity.

In these difficult circumstances, we must act united in order to overcome them as soon as possible.

Together we can succeed", concludes the company in their appeal.

In the announcement issued by the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), it is stated that water leaks have appeared in the boiler of A3 and as a result it is impossible to keep this unit in operation.

"KEK experts are doing their best to return the unit to operation at the optimal time.

Currently, the process of intensive cooling of the unit has begun, then the inspection will be carried out, which follows with the remediation of the leak in the boiler and the preparations for the return of this unit to operation", it was stated in the announcement of KEK.

Block B2 of the "Kosova B" thermal power plant was warned that it would return to work very soon, as it is under repair, but it continues to be out of order.

"As you have been informed by the Ministry of Economy, block B2 is under repair and it is expected to be completed very soon.

The reason why it is under repair is that breakdowns must be avoided.

"Kosova A" thermal power plant has units that are 60 years old, and "Kosova B" has units that are 40 years old", Prime Minister Kurti said, Telegrafi reports.

Regarding this energy crisis, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) also reacted, proposing 10 points to deal with this crisis.

They proposed the immediate payment of the promised subsidies of 90 million euros for the price of electricity, the repair of block A5 of the "Kosova A" thermal power plant, the creation of mechanisms for the supply of alternative sources of heating at affordable prices for citizens. as well as the preparation of the efficiency and energy saving plan.

It has also been requested to negotiate long-term energy supply contracts, reduce VAT from 8 to 0 percent for energy bills, a new energy subsidy package for citizens and businesses, and remove ERO's discriminatory tariffs. , as well as the establishment of the joint Kosovo-Albania energy exchange.

As of August 15, KEDS had started electricity reductions of 2 hours per day for every 6 hours.

At the beginning of this month, the members of the Assembly of Kosovo voted the Government's decision to impose emergency measures in the electricity supply.

According to the reasoning, this decision was taken from the current world energy situation.

These measures will remain active for 60 days.

We recall that at the end of last year, the government made a decision to declare a state of emergency with electricity.
