Last night (Sunday) was held the big night of the annual music awards, MTV Video Music Awards 2022.

Among the many participating stars, present at this ceremony were the world-famous Albanian singers: Bebe Rexha and Ava Max.

But the red carpet was noticeably absent from another globally recognized artist, Dua Lipa, who was also nominated in four categories at this year's MTV VMAs.

But despite being nominated five times, Dua Lipa failed to take home any awards - and wasn't even present at this year's ceremony in New Jersey.

Dua was defeated in the "Best Collaboration" category, which was won by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow with their song "Industry Baby".

She was nominated in this category for her collaboration with Elton John, "Cold Heart" and that with Megan Thee Stallion, "Sweetest Pie".

The Albanian remained without a prize in the other category, "The best song of the year" where she was again nominated for her song in collaboration with Elton.

This award was won by Billie Eilish with "Happier Than Ever".

The same also failed to win the awards "Best Art Direction" and "Best Visual Effects" - in both of these categories she was nominated for the song "Sweetest Pie" in collaboration with Megan The Stallion, and both these trophies were won by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow for their collaboration "Industry Baby".

Currently, the only Albanians who have won MTV VMA awards are Rita Ora in 2018, for the collaboration with Avicii, "Lonely Together", and Bebe Rexha in 2019, for the collaboration with The Chainsmokers, "Call You Mine".

Both artists were winners of the "Best Dance" award.
