Yo

We wrote this Sentir Bolivariano at the beginning of August, at a time when the international geopolitical situation continues to turn convulsive, as a consequence of the important events taking place on the planet;

events that we could register, in general lines, in the eternal battle that our peoples wage in defense of their dignity, sovereignty and independence;

and in the urgent longing of the excluded and the always excluded to achieve social justice.

It is about a confrontation of great dimensions between those who intend to subjugate us and restore at all costs, and in a desperate way, their hegemonic power;

and those of us who are committed to building a different, more supportive and just humanity, a task that is not only possible but extremely necessary.

In the midst of this attempt, the consolidation of the multicentric and multipolar world that Commander Hugo Chávez so aptly foreshadowed becomes increasingly relevant;

a task that, as stated in the IV Historical Objective of the Plan for the Homeland, will allow "achieving the balance of the universe and guaranteeing planetary peace."

II

The historical leader of the Bolivarian Revolution was a tireless promoter of this idea, based on which he promoted the unity of the peoples of our Latin-Caribbean America and, beyond, of the global south;

while he established important alliances with other poles of world power and vindicated the struggle that we should continue waging for full and definitive liberation;

a struggle to which he summoned all political, social and working class organizations, which for historical, cultural and self-determination reasons were called to put an end, once and for all, to the pretended supremacy of North American imperialism, which has been sought to impose with particular viciousness in the region.

Latin America and the Caribbean has been an exceptional witness to imperial ferocity, expressed in the planning and execution of different kinds of coups d'état and, furthermore, of permanent destabilization processes against those governments that do not respond to their interests and / or do not obey their designs;

as well as in the instrumentation of sanctions as weapons of economic warfare, the attempt to isolate these governments from the political and diplomatic point of view, and the development of ferocious campaigns of disinformation and media manipulation.

This, along with the incessant conspiracy, with the complicity of the lackey oligarchies of the continent, in favor of weakening the regional integration instances formed in recent decades and inspired by the principles of self-determination, sovereignty, fair trade, complementarity and social justice;

and the development of a strategy aimed at trying to reverse in our countries the policies of redistribution of national income, poverty reduction and social inclusion, in order to try to put an end to progressive governments born of popular vote.

III

Despite this fierce imperial onslaught, the peoples of our America today continue to harbor the hope of a profound integration;

expressing, at the same time, their firm determination to remain mobilized in rejection of the imposition of neoliberal recipes and in the search for improvements in their quality of life.

Without a doubt, as the Bolivarian leader expressed it in 2009, Latin-Caribbean America is in a permanent Revolution: “It is a Revolution that transcends the ideological;

it is geographical, geopolitical;

it is a Revolution of the times, a moral Revolution;

it is a necessary Revolution.

It is big because of the time it carries inside, it is big because of the space it covers”.

This is a Revolution that no one will be able to stop, and that has as the most recent example of that awakening of our American people, what happened in Colombia;

sister nation whose new government has assumed on August 7 the reins of a country immersed by the fascist right and the rancid Bogotá oligarchy in violence, drug trafficking and paramilitarism;

as well as deep social inequality, poverty, exclusion and the commodification of rights such as health and education.

Colombia is today, moreover, plagued by North American military bases, with what this supposes from the point of view of the violation of its national sovereignty;

and, product of an erratic foreign policy, characterized by its servility to the interests of North American and European imperialism, isolated in the regional and world concert.

It is a long and complex road that the new Colombian government must travel in order to rebuild the current situation in that country and move towards full integration with the other nations of the continent, which we look forward to with enthusiasm and hope the certain possibility that this noble people, also son of the liberating father Simón Bolívar, manages to achieve true and definitive peace, dodging the dangers and resisting the pressures that, with all certainty, they will have to face in order to make the desire for profound change that encouraged Colombians and Colombians to vote for a progressive government.

In a particular way, Venezuelans harbor the desire to restore relations between both nations, based on common history, solidarity, brotherhood and mutual respect, as stated by fellow President Nicolás Maduro;

who has extended his hand to the new Government of the neighboring country to advance in said purpose, for the benefit of our peoples.

May Bolívar's sword, which was present at the inauguration ceremony of President Gustavo Petro, and which the representatives of the national and international oligarchy continue to fear, be an incentive for the battles to come;

a sword that, as Commander Hugo Chávez pointed out, is "the liberating sword of America, the sword of the peoples, the sword that did not remain in the past but is with us today in the present, and will be in the future." future".

That sword, as the slogan shouted by Latin-Caribbean men and women, goes with increasing force throughout Latin America.

Long live the brotherhood between the peoples of Colombia and Venezuela!
