Director Elisabeth Rohm hailed Heche's latest performance as 'phenomenal' as she tackles the tough role of a mother whose daughter is abducted into human trafficking.

Elisabeth began: "We are all so committed to the cause, stopping violence against women... all of us, especially Larissa [Dias] who played this victim, are committed to this cause."

The director added that the cast had spoken about the importance of standing up against abuse, before praising Hechen for her dedication to the role as she remained in a coma.

"Even though [Heche] is deeply missed, now, I will say that the film is finished and she gave a phenomenal performance," she continued.

Before she died, Anne was already said to be brain dead and would hardly survive.

She suffered a serious car accident while driving into a house, and was even said to be under the influence of narcotic substances.
