KEDS announces that it has received an order from the National Dispatch Center of Kosovo, part of KOSTT, to start with electricity restrictions from 8:00 a.m. on Monday.

These restrictions, based on the plan sent, will be up to 2 hours for all consumers.

So, on Monday, consumers will have 6 hours of electricity and 2 hours of restrictions.

From Monday (tomorrow) the country will be supplied only by local production.

This, since KEDS and KESCO no longer have the financial means to nominate energy outside of what is produced by local generators.

This situation has come to this due to the enormous prices that exist in the international markets and the non-coverage of the cost of the system.

This has led to a serious financial situation for KOSTT, which ENTSO no longer allows to make deviations.

This means that any demand on local production is limited to the impossibility of being covered by imports.

"The electricity purchased until today has caused enormous losses for both KEDS and KESCO.

Last year, both companies closed the year with large financial losses, one 27.8 million euros, the other 18.5 million euros, in a total loss of over 46 million euros.

During the extraordinary tariff review, the regulator had taken into account the government subsidy of 100 million euros.

Not one cent of that amount has been distributed to the supplier.

This has aggravated the situation even more.

Today, a few months later, all financial possibilities have been exhausted.

The two companies, i.e. KEDS and KESCO, can no longer bear the burden of the global energy crisis and its consequences in Kosovo alone.

The action of other actors is also urgently required so that together we can face this crisis", it is stated in the announcement of KEDS./Telegafi/
