The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Abelard Tahiri, reacted after the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) received a request from KESCO for the extraordinary review of the maximum allowed revenues.

According to Tahir, this is the first phase of the Kurti Government's deliberate and synchronized effort to allow the serial increase in the price of electricity.

"As long as the debate about the unfair increase in the price of energy for nearly 400 thousand Kosovar families has not yet been closed and such an issue is subject to judicial review, parallel to the time when every essential product for survival has become more expensive, making the cost of living unaffordable for citizens, the courage to put up with the increase in the price of electricity is an illusion of this government that sees the citizens of Kosovo as subservient to it and in its function", he wrote on Facebook.

Further, Tahiri stated that "this teaching at the expense of the citizens", in addition to being irresponsible, is also irrational.

"I invite the government to refrain from such 'courage', because the citizens are reaching the end of their chances to survive in the current circumstances.

Any attempt to increase the price of electricity and increase this burden on the citizens will be met with our complete and uncompromising opposition".
