The Office of the Energy Regulator (ERO) announces that today it has received the Application for Extraordinary Review of the Maximum Allowed Revenues for the Universal Service Supplier (USS).

According to the announcement, FSHU bases its request on the non-disbursement of the subsidy promised by the Government of Kosovo and the situation created in the wholesale energy market as a result of the enormous increase in electricity prices in international markets.

"In the application for extraordinary review, FSHU states that it is operating below cost, since FSHU's costs are not being covered through the aforementioned fees and subsidy, as a result of the non-disbursement of the subsidy by the Government of Kosovo". said in the press release.

According to FSHU, the value of the subsidy for the period February 9 - June 30, 2022 has exceeded the amount of 32.8 million euros.

"Only the lack of non-disbursement of the subsidy exceeds the materiality threshold of 5% as provided for in Article 11 of the FSHU Revenue Rule.

In the final proposal for retail electricity tariffs, the regulator took into account the allocation of an additional subsidy of 10 million euros according to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo No.

05/55 dated 21.01.2022, as well as decision No.

01/60 dated 05.02.2022, for the energy subsidy in the amount of 90 million euros".

"As a result of these subsidy decisions, the retail tariffs for non-family (business) consumers and for family consumers with monthly consumption up to 800kËh, remained unchanged.

Such decisions took into consideration the affordability of tariffs from regulated consumers, the security and continuity of electricity supply, as well as the financial liquidity of energy companies".
