Rapper Feronit Shabani, known in public by the epithet Fero, was sentenced today (Wednesday) to a 30-day detention in connection with the attack on a citizen in his car.

The decision was approved by the Basic Court of Gjilan, after the submission of the request by the Prosecutor's Office.

Through a press release, the Basic Court in Gjilan announced that the rapper will remain in detention for a month, on the charge of 'Assault'.

This is the full notice from the court:

"The Basic Court in Gjilan has approved the request of the Basic Prosecution of Gjilan, assigning the detention measure of 30 (thirty) days to the defendant F. Sh.

There is a well-founded suspicion that on 24.07.2022 at around 17:00, on "Mulla Idrizi" Street in Gjilan, in a public street and place, the defendant after a dispute with the injured party EE who was listening to music and was sitting in the white VË Golf 6 car as a passenger, the defendant F. Sh. physically attacked him, punching and kicking him several times in different parts of the body, until other people present intervened removed the defendant.

With these actions, the defendant is suspected of having committed the criminal offense of assault, an offense sanctioned by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (KPRK).

The judge of the preliminary procedure has assessed that there are legal reasons for assigning the measure of detention to the defendant, since other alternative measures would be insufficient at this stage of the criminal procedure.

The parties have the right to appeal against this decision on the appointment of detention in the Court of Appeal".
