As reported by the Republican Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, the highest rates of disease are in the Gomel region - 14.4 cases per 100,000 population (195 cases of HIV), Minsk - 14 cases per 100,000 (279) and Minsk region - 11. 5 cases (169).

The lowest rate was recorded in the Horaden region — 3.5 cases per 100,000 population (35 cases of HIV).

From January to June 2022, 79.1% of people were sexually infected with the human immunodeficiency virus, the share of parenteral routes of HIV transmission (with intravenous drug administration) was 18.6%.

In other cases, the methods of transmission are not reported.

The main share of citizens who were diagnosed with the virus for the first time are people over 30 years old (90% of HIV cases registered in January-June 2022).

In the overall structure of registered cases of HIV infection, 60.8% are men, 39.2% are women.
