Applied for job in Google 39 times, got rejected every time

The story of a man who never stopped trying and finally got a job at Google, the place of his dreams, is now inspiring people.

Tyler Cohen applied to the tech giant not once or twice, but 39 times.

And last on July 19, when he got the job, he shared screenshots of all his email communications with Google.

Cohen lives in San Francisco and worked at DoorDash as Associate Manager - Strategy and Operations before being offered a position by Google.

"There's a fine line between perseverance and madness. I'm still trying to figure out which one I have," he said in a brief LinkedIn post that's now going viral. 39 Rejections , 1 Approval."

The person has added creative hashtags like #acceptedoffer, #application etc.

The post has been liked by about 35 thousand people and around 800 users have commented on it.

Screenshots from Google and his trail mail from him show that he had first applied on August 25, 2019, but was rejected.

He did not give up and applied again for a post, for the second time in September 2019.

Cohen was rejected both times.

Cohen began applying again in June 2020 during the COVID pandemic, but was rejected each time until July 19, 2022, when he was selected by the tech giant.

Users are impressed by Cohen's achievement and have posted several congratulatory messages.

Some users also shared their experiences.

One user said, "I had 120+ rejections from Amazon until I finally came to a position."

Another said, "I have given 83 applications, 52 rejections, and am waiting to hear 1 re (final round)."
