Rapper Fero, whose real name is Feronit Shabani, was ordered today (Tuesday) to be detained by the Basic Prosecutor's Office of Gjilan.

The news for the Telegraph was confirmed by the chief prosecutor of Gjilan, Arben Kadriu.

"Today, on July 26, 2022, the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Gjilan, within the legal deadline, submitted a request for the appointment of detention against the defendant Feroni Shabani, due to the criminal offense of 'Assault'.

The request for the assignment of Detention has been submitted to the Basic Court in Gjilan, which is expected to hold the hearing", the prosecutor's announcement states.

Rapper Fero is accused of assault, after days ago a video recording was published where he was seen abusing a citizen in his car.

The defense lawyer of the rapper from Gjilan, Egzon Halimi, said on Monday to the Telegraph that Fero has expressed remorse for the crime committed.

"He is currently in detention and now it is expected what decision the court will make.

He has been charged with assault, now let's see.

The client himself is sorry for what he did", the lawyer said.
