A party on the roof of a pool house in Israel ended in tragedy.

One person died after the bottom of the pool split in the middle of the party, and two men were sucked in by the water.

One of them still manages to escape, reports Dir.bg.

The incident happened yesterday.

"The water level suddenly started to drop and a whirlpool formed that engulfed the two men," an eyewitness told local media.

He notes that at the time of the tragedy, there were about 50 people at the scene of the accident.

Two are on trial for the death of a child who was sucked into a siphon at a pool in Golden Sands

Another witness said that the vortex engulfed the victim in a few seconds and that there could have been more victims as there were only six people in the pool at the time.

Rescue teams at the scene in the town of Karmey Yosef found the body after a complex rescue operation that took four hours and required the help of Go-Pro cameras attached to the workers' helmets as they descended deep underground.

The search has been complicated by concerns that tunnels branching off the hole could trigger a secondary collapse, the fire and rescue service said.

Before they could find the missing man's body, rescuers built a support structure to prevent the bottom of the pool from collapsing further on top of them.

Rescue teams sent to the scene earlier assisted a 34-year-old man who managed to get out.

He suffered minor injuries to his lower body.

An investigation into the death is being launched and is looking into whether the pool was operated with the appropriate licence.
