In the 13th edition, Anibar brings two distinguished guests in a conversation with the audience on the importance of animation.

Their rich experience and unique artistic journey of the speakers is expected to give a lot to all who will be part of the presentations.

"Unusual roads: Introduction to the animation industry from beyond" is the first presentation by Alex Myung, which will be held on July 15, at 16:00 at Kino Jusuf Gërvalla.


Alex Myung (he/him) is a queer Korean artist and filmmaker whose work explores new and surprising intersections between many aspects of his identity, including his status as an adoptee.

Often influenced by the ten years he spent in the fashion industry in New York working as a technical designer for fashion houses such as Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, DKNY and Tiffany's.

In his presentation, Alex Myung will talk about his unique journey in the world of animation, designing for studios such as Cartoon Network, Netflix and Titmouse LA, after a decade working in the fashion industry in New York.

The presentations will also be enriched with the presentation by Dez Stavracos who will talk about "Animation for Advertising: Craft, Career and Capitalism" and will be held on July 16, at 4:00 p.m., at Kino Jusuf Gërvalla.

"Let's face it - advertising has been a dirty word.

For this presentation, I'd like to have a conversation that discusses this head-on—I'll share my experience working in advertising, how it compares to indie animation, and the calculations we apply when trying to navigate a financially sustainable life while making art. - says Stavracos and continues "Let's talk about capitalism, consumerism and where it intersects with art."

Dez Stavracos is a producer/animator/illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York, currently working full-time as a production supervisor at Hornet.

Dez started his career in May 2010 with Bill Plympton.

There, he worked in the capacity of Producer as well as Editor, Lead Composer and Web Designer.

His credits include two Simpsons Couch Gags, animation for John Leguizamo's feature film Fugly, and a feature film Cheatin'.
