Police constable jumped into the swamp to save the life of the elderly

A police constable, known as Sandesh Kumar, is being praised on social media for saving the life of an elderly man trapped in a swamp.

A video showing the rescue operation was shared by Agra Police and then re-shared on Twitter by Uttar Pradesh Police.

The clip shows Kumar entering the swamp and saving the elderly man with the help of a rope.

The police officer carries him on his shoulders, and the other officers pull him to safety.

In the caption, UP Police wrote, "Salute to the courageous efforts of constable Sandesh Kumar and team of @agrapolice PS Barhan, who rescued an elderly man trapped in a marshy land with the help of available resources."

The clip has gone viral on the internet since it was shared.

People praised the police officer for saving the elderly man.

One user wrote, "This is very commendable. Appreciate everyone involved in this rescue operation."

Another wrote, "The savior needs to be honored for his bravery." The third said, "Great work done by Agra Police.

Salute to that person." 

Agra Police said that the rescue operation was led by Station House Officer (SHO) Sher Singh.

Sharing the video with the caption, he wrote, 'On the information of an elderly man getting trapped in the swamp, the constable of the police station, Sandesh Kumar, showing indomitable courage, landed himself in the swamp with the help of rope etc.

And saved the old man trapped in the swamp."

Officials also said that a very disturbed and injured elderly person was immediately sent to the Community Health Center Etmadpur for treatment through fire service ambulance.

They have identified the 54-year-old as Brajesh, a resident of Tajganj in Agra.


After the murder of Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, other people are also getting threats
