The U.S. Supreme Court overturned the legal right to abortion on Friday (June 24th), concluding that the constitutional right to an abortion, upheld for nearly 50 years, is no longer valid.

This has led many celebrities to speak out against the decision and calls for a boycott.

Actress Natalie Portman also reacted to this, speaking out against the decision.

"I think a war on women has been declared.

"And I think the only good thing we can do to make this a positive thing is to be a whole new step in the movement," she said.

According to the AP, she added that "this is just inspiring for us to completely change our tactics, completely change our goals and completely change our thinking."

However, the star of "Thor: Love and Thunder" said that despite this he remains hopeful.

"It is unfortunate.

I wish we weren’t here, of course, and I definitely feel desperate like a lot of people.

But I also feel that determination has been strengthened and motivated more than ever.

Hollywood on the other hand is being pushed by celebrities like Bradley Whitford and Alyssa Milano to ban products in states like Alabama and Georgia where abortion restrictions have been passed.

Actress Alyssa Milano warned Georgian lawmakers in an open letter that she and other members of the entertainment industry "can not continue in good conscience to recommend that our industry remain in Georgia if House Bill 481 (anti-abortion law) it becomes law ”.

The letter was signed by more than 50 actors, including Tessa Thompson, Mandy Moore and Mark Ruffalo.

JJ Abrams and Jordan Peele are two Hollywood figures who have promised to donate every penny from their upcoming films to groups opposed to enforcing these laws.

Natalie Portman: “There's been an assumption my whole life that I'd be interested in watching men's basketball, men's baseball, men's football & soccer.

And I do.

I love watching great players play a sport.

Why would a man not watch it because it's women? ”
