From the day little Vanora came home, Taco, a 3-year-old retriever, would stand by her side.

"If we laid her on the floor or in our bed, Taco would just lie next to her," said Claudia Hughes, Vanora's mother and Taco's owner.

In a way, Taco became Vanora's nanny - always attentive to her needs.

Of course, Vanora's walk did not happen overnight and Taco helped her a lot to take the first steps.

"Once Vanora started to take a few steps, Taco started to get very excited," said Hughes.

According to her, Taco started jumping from side to side every time he saw Vanora walking.

Now that Vanora is walking, Taco and she have discovered new ways to interact with each other, like running through the kitchen.
