Moderna's modification of the vaccine, created specifically for the new coronavirus variant Omicron, generates a strong immune response compared to the pharmaceutical company's original, Reuters reported, citing its representatives.

It raises antibody levels eightfold, according to a study by the company.

It involved more than 800 people who received the modified vaccine as a fourth booster dose.

It has led to the development of more antibodies against the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta variants of the new coronavirus compared to the dose of Moderna's original vaccine.

The vaccine is well tolerated and the side effects are comparable to those of the drug used so far, adds BTA.
