Two years ago, the Hoti government repealed the decisions imposing reciprocity on Serbia.

Under the then leadership of Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, the executive repealed the decision of 20 March 2020 on the gradual implementation of reciprocity with Serbia and the decision of 30 May 2020, to supplement the amendment of the first decision on this measure.

"We have taken an important decision to remove obstacles to the continuation of the dialogue.

"We expect the Serbian side to remove all obstacles, but we reserve our right as a sovereign state to impose measures to preserve our sovereignty in accordance with international partners," Hoti said.

Hoti had said that these decisions were taken in cooperation with international partners.

Reciprocity measures against Serbia were imposed by the Government led by former Prime Minister Albin Kurti on April 1, 2020, forcing the neighboring country to use the name "Republic of Kosovo".
