NASA shares amazing picture of swirl galaxy

In its 30 years of service, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured millions of pictures of interesting events.

It has captured some of the most stunning views of the universe, giving space enthusiasts a sigh of relief.

Now, the American space agency has recently shared an image that looks like a spiral staircase sweeping through space.

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shared a stunning picture of Galaxy M51, also known as Whirlpool Galaxy, on Twitter.

NASA wrote in the caption, "We go round and round ... Let yourself be distanced from the curved arms of the Whirlpool Galaxy, the pink star formation regions and the brilliant blue stars of star clusters."

This "hypnotic spiral galaxy" was captured in visible light with Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys.

Since being shared, the post has garnered over 10,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

One user wrote, "I wish there was an AI. That could interpret images and turn it into music. I'd love to hear how this picture looked." Another wrote, "It's out there and all beautiful Looks so beautiful in the light," said the third user, "What a beauty, I can't take my eyes off it."

According to a press note, the space agency explained that the beautiful, curved arms of the majestic spiral galaxy M51 are actually long lanes of gas laden with stars and dust.

It said such striking arms are hallmarks of so-called "grand-design spiral galaxies".

"In M51, also known as the Whirlpool galaxy, these arms serve an important purpose: they are star-formation factories, compressing hydrogen gas and forming new star clusters," NASA said. "

In addition, the agency explained that in the panoramic image, red represents infrared light as well as hydrogen within the giant star-forming regions.

On the other hand, the blue color can be attributed to hot, young stars while the yellow color is from the older stars.

Significantly, M51 is located 31 million light years away from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici.
