The Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati has stated that citizens must now declare their income even when the premises are rented, other income from sources from abroad and other income.

Murati in a press conference, said that the form to fill out is active online on the website of the Tax Administration of Kosovo and the deadline for declaration for last year is until May 31.

"Completing the personal declaration for annual tax, for example rental income must be declared.

The form is electronically, coming from outside sources or from outside sources.

"The other income from the capital gain is from the sale and purchase of securities, the sale of cryptocurrencies", said Murati.

The finance minister cited the example of renting out a house or apartment to an entity that does not file a tax return and did not source the tax.

"Usually in renting, businesses stop the tax while natural persons do not have this tendency, therefore they are obliged to pay the tax", he emphasized.

Murati said that it is estimated that about 10 percent should be the tax value that every citizen owes to the state, emphasizing that the tax liability has existed before, but now is only required to implement the law.

According to him, those who do not pay tax can be treated as cases of tax evasion.
