The Briton, a father of two, left his partner after falling in love with a 22-year-old refugee who came to live with them after fleeing Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Tony Garnett (29) and his partner, Lorna (28) welcomed Sofia Karkadim in early May, but just ten days later their seemingly happy marriage broke down and Tony went to live with Sofia.

The guard, who lives in Bradford, West Yorkshire, says he fell in love with Sofia and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

Sofia, who fled Lviv to western Ukraine, said she liked Tony as soon as she saw him and that the two are now living their love story, reports dailymail.

Toni showed that he has a relationship with Sofia that he has never had before, adding that he knows that he has done the right thing, Telegrafi reports.

Sofia works as an IT manager.

She flew to Manchester on May 4 after waiting for weeks in Berlin to get her visa to the UK.

Toni speaks Slovak, so he used her to reach an agreement with Sofia, but his wife did not like him and felt left out.

"We had a great time, but there was nothing more at the time, although I can see that Lorna has started to feel jealous and angry with her," said Toni.

"At home I realized that we were finding excuses to be touched, it was like flirting, but nothing more than that happened at that stage," he said.

As the couple got closer, Lorna became jealous, so Tony asked why Sofia was following him all the time.

"The atmosphere became very bad and Sofia told me she could not continue living with us," he said.

As things got even hotter, a debate started and Sofia said she would no longer live in the same house with Lorna.

Tony told the woman that if Sofia left, he would leave too.

Tony and Sofia then settled in with Tony's parents and are now looking for a home of their own.
