The European Radio and Television Union (ERC) has come up with a new explanation for the problems that arose during the Eurovision 2022 final, after the results of six countries, including Romania, were annulled, Romania's Digi 24 reported.

In a statement, the ERC described in detail the reasons why Romania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland and San Marino were excluded from the vote.

The ERC points out that the countries in question voted for each other in the second semi-final.

The statement said there were unprecedented irregularities in the way the jury voted in those countries.

Due to irregularities: The results of the Eurovision jury vote in 6 countries have been removed

According to the ERC, a model has been found for the exchange of votes between those involved.

The Union explains the procedure as follows: "In the second semi-final, it was noted that four of the six juries placed all five other countries in their Top 5 (given that they could not vote for themselves); one jury voted for the same. five countries in the Top 6, with the last of the six juries placing four of the other countries in the Top 4 and the fifth in the Top 7. Four of the six countries received at least one set of 12 points, which is the maximum number that can be awarded. " .

The reason the pan-European voting partner was alerted by these rankings is that five of the six countries involved were placed outside the top eight of the other 15 countries.

In addition, four of the six countries ranked in the top six among the other 15 countries that voted in this semifinal.

The ECtHR concludes that this is an unprecedented violation of the jury's voting method.

This year's edition of "Eurovision" was marked by controversy, after the ERC announced at the end of the competition that it had annulled the results of the jury voting in six countries and they were replaced by a calculated result, BTA notes.

In response, Romania's TeVere public television condemned the "change of rules during the game" and said it had awarded the maximum number of points to Moldova, not Ukraine, as announced in the Turin final.

Romanian Public Television publishes information on the points awarded by the Romanian jury: Moldova - 12 points, Greece - 10 points, Poland - 8 points, Netherlands - 8 points, Azerbaijan - 6 points, Australia - 5 points, Italy - 4 points, Spain - 3 points, Finland - 2 points and Lithuania - one point.

TeVe informs that the European Union of Radio and Television has refused to host the presenter Eda Marcus live to announce the results of the Romanian jury.

Following the Eurovision final, Romanian public television asked the organizers to officially announce the specific reasons for replacing the Romanian jury's assessment with another, calculated in a non-transparent way.

Ukraine, represented by the Kalush Orchestra, won the competition with the song "Stefania".
