Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena Zelenskaya have appeared together in public for the first time since the start of the war in Ukraine.

The couple attended the funeral of Ukraine's first president.

Zelensky and his wife looked exhausted and relaxed as they walked to lay flowers at the coffin of Leonid Kravchuk, the first man to rule independent Ukraine since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. He died over the weekend at the age of 88 after a long illness, reports

Dressed in black instead of the camouflage uniform, which has become a brand in the last three months, Zelensky walked next to his wife, who was also dressed in black.

Olena's public appearance with her husband comes a month after she discovered she had only been heard from on the phone since the start of the war.

She then stressed that reuniting with her husband would put her and their children at risk.

It is not clear exactly when she returned to Kiev, but the couple spent at least six weeks apart, according to some media.
