The coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) 31438

A downward trend is reported among those hospitalized with coronavirus, which promotes the normalization of life in the Balkan countries.

An additional incentive to remove the restrictions is the upcoming summer tourist season.

ALBANIA

As of May 1st, all covid restrictions have been lifted in Albania in anticipation of a record summer tourist season.

Indoor masks are not required, nightclubs will be open after 11 pm.

No negative PCR test or proof of vaccination will be required at the country's border crossings.

On May 3, there were 14 new infections per day, the average number for the week was 31, while on May 4, the number of newly infected in 24 hours was 20, and the average weekly number was 26, according to Johns Hopkins University.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The Bosnian Ministry of Justice proposed this week the abolition of special covid measures to allow foreigners to enter the country.

The proposal to the Ministry of Security is motivated by the fact that the current epidemiological situation in Bosnia has been favorable for some time.

According to the latest data from the Hopkins Institute, 30 new cases of KOVID-19 were registered in the country on Wednesday, compared to 58 on Tuesday.

The vaccination coverage of the population in Bosnia is 25.8 percent.

GREECE

Greece reports a sharp decline in covid patients.

Compared to the beginning of March, they have decreased by nearly 58 percent.

About 1,486 people are being treated at the hospital, compared to 3,532 five weeks ago. A reduction is also reported in patients in need of intensive care.

When patients are admitted, stabilization is observed and they no longer exceed 150 per day.

80 percent of the admitted patients are 60 years old, and unvaccinated patients continue to experience more serious complications.

However, the recommendation for people over the age of 65 to take a third booster dose has not led to mass vaccination of the elderly population.

According to the Ministry of Health, 200,400 of the 1.5 million eligible for the third dose have been vaccinated and another 48,500 have applied.

About 73 percent of the population has been vaccinated.

Just over 8,000 were newly infected with KOVID-19 in Greece in 24 hours on Wednesday, with 32 deaths.

From 1 May, it will no longer be necessary to present a certificate of vaccination and illness, as well as a negative result from a laboratory test for KOVID-19 to enter Greece.

Vaccination certificates against KOVID-19 will no longer be required for entry intodoors.

Cafes, restaurants and bars are among the indoor sites where the measure is repealed.

The new measures provide for 100 percent capacity utilization, and students in all classes will not have to take self-diagnosis tests to attend classes.

Until the end of May, the use of protective masks indoors remains mandatory.

The measure will be reviewed on May 31.
