A residential street destroyed in Ukraine will be named after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, reports say.

According to foreign media, the Telegraph reports, officials hailed the British prime minister as a "principled opponent" of the Putin regime after he visited President Zelensky in Kiev and promised to send him an arsenal of weapons.

The road in question is located in Fontanka, on the outskirts of Odessa, where the Ukrainian army is resisting Russian fighters.

Fontanka's council announced that they had "new heroes" until they issued the order to rename Mayakovsky Street "Boris Johnson Street".

"The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is one of the most vocal opponents of the Russian occupation, a leader in sanctions against Russia and a supporter of defense for Ukraine," the statement said.

A quick look at Google Maps reveals that "Boris Johnson Street" seems to be in urgent need of attention.

The one-track lane is full of potholes.
