The figure for September 2021 exceeded the figure for September 2020 by 15.1%.

At the same time, after a decrease of 56% in August, passenger air transport in September decreased by 53.4% ​​compared to the pre-crisis level (September 2019 - ed.).

In September, the volume of international passenger air traffic decreased by 69.2% compared to September 2019, and the volume of domestic traffic decreased by 24.3%.

According to IATA, the most significant decline to pre-crisis levels was recorded in the Asia-Pacific region (-69%) and the Middle East (-65.9%).

The decline was 61.4% in Africa, 50.3% in Europe and 39.4% in Latin America.

A relative decrease was observed in North America - 30.5%.

According to the association, before the pandemic, the largest increase in air freight in September this year compared to September 2019 was in Africa (32.8%), North America (22.6%) and the Middle East (17.6%). ) registered.

In Europe, a more moderate growth rate of 5.9% was observed.

In Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, the decline was 15.7% and 0.2%, respectively.

In particular, the volume of international air cargo increased by 9.4% compared to September 2019 and by 18.4% in September 2020.
