London:

Queen Elizabeth II's eight grandchildren and grandchildren stand guard around the coffin at London's historic Westminster Hall in honor of Britain's longest-reigning monarch.

King Charles III's sons Prince William and Harry, Prince Andrew's daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, Princess Anne's children Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, and Prince Edward's children Louis and James stood guard around the Queen's coffin.

Both Prince William and Harry came in military uniform.

King Charles's two sons stood silent in a 15-minute vigil at the vast Westminster Hall, where since Wednesday a coffin draped in the Royal Standard, with the Imperial State Crown on top, has been lying.

Thousands of people have been waiting for more than 24 hours to see the coffin.

Earlier on Saturday, Charles and his successor William greeted well-wishers in the queue and shook hands with them.

Also asked people how long they were there.
