All the indictees of the Specialized Chambers in The Hague, including former President Hashim Thaçi and former Speaker Kadri Veseli, have agreed to meet with Glauk Konjufca.

He is expected to visit former KLA leaders later this month.

But this visit is being opposed by civil society in Pristina.

A few months after the visit of the Minister of Justice Albulena Haxhiu, a senior state leader will go to The Hague.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca has confirmed that at the end of this month he will visit the former leaders of the KLA, who are being held in detention in The Hague by the Special Court.

But, unlike his fellow party member, the Minister of Justice, Konjufca have agreed to meet all the accused.

RTV Dukagjini has learned from sources close to the meeting that the former leaders of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli will receive the Speaker Konjufca.

Ilir Kërçeli, head of the Cabinet of the Speaker of the Assembly, in February confirmed Konjufca's visit to The Hague, without giving details.

"The Speaker of Parliament will visit everyone.

There are no specific reasons, they are citizens of our country ", said Kërçeli.

Ehat Miftaraj from the Kosovo Law Institute (KLI), estimates that the visits of politicians and persons in power in the Republic of Kosovo may have a negative character in the trials of those held in The Hague

"In terms of how the prosecution and the special court view the visits of politicians and persons in power in the Republic of Kosovo can have a negative character in the trials of those held in The Hague.

It is enough to see the reasoning of the Court either in the case of Thaçi or in the case of Veseli, the continuation of detention on remand is required because these persons are considered to still have authority ", stated Ehat Miftaraj from the Kosovo Institute of Justice (KLI).

Whereas, the lawyer Armend Shkoza, considers it unprincipled for the holders of political functions to visit the persons who are in a court process.

"Holders of public office would not be considered principled or legal to visit persons who are in a lawsuit.

However, with the very fact of the specifics of this court and the nature of the trial, for the persons who are being processed before this court, institutional support is needed ", said lawyer Shkoza.

In The Hague, the former leaders of the KLA and Kosovo, in addition to visits by members and deputies of the PDK, also met with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama.
