The Taliban government in Afghanistan plans to appoint an ambassador to Russia.

APA reports quoting RIA Novosti that Taliban government spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said this.

"Especially now we have a plan for embassies, we plan to appoint an ambassador to Moscow, we will appoint him. This is a diplomatic step. Embassies and consulates are important for diplomatic relations, and we are cooperating in this," Mujahid said.

He did not say when the ambassador would be appointed, but said they had not yet received conditions from Russia to recognize the Taliban government.

According to Mujahid, the recognition of the government will contribute to the development of relations and trust, especially with the United States.
