According to people familiar with the activities and organization of al-Qaeda, the most likely name is that of 60-year-old Saif al-Adel, a former soldier in the army of Egypt.

His real name is believed to be Mohammed Salah al-Din Zaidan and is nicknamed "The Sword of Justice".
