[Reporter Huang Jingao/Taipei Report] The Home Affairs Committee of the Legislative Yuan today invited the Minister of the Interior Xu Guoyong and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Justice Lin Jincun to give a special report on the issue of Chinese people being deceived to engage in criminal work overseas.

Xu Guoyong pointed out that the number of cases of Chinese people being deceived into Cambodia peaked in July. After mid-August, the flow of people between Taiwan and Cambodia has also changed from a net outflow to a net inflow. The inter-ministerial public-private cooperation has rescued 285 people and returned to China.

Lin Jincun said that from August 8 this year to the 29th of last month, there have been 266 cases under investigation.

Xu Guoyong said that in response to the transnational fraudster group, the Ministry of the Interior implements it from four aspects: prevention, dissuasion, rescue, and investigation.

After mid-August, the flow of people between Taiwan and Cambodia has changed from a net outflow to a net inflow (1,548 outbound and 1,828 inbound), and the number of people leaving the country from August to Cambodia decreased by 663 compared with July, while the number of people entering Cambodia also increased by 234.

Xu Guoyong pointed out that the Police Administration conducted an inventory of 4,679 people who went to Cambodia in the past year and did not return to China.
