The trial on the criminal case of Oruj Mammadov, former chairman of the Medical and Social Expert Commission No. 7 of the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, and Munavvar Jabbarova, chief specialist of the Absheron regional branch of the fund, has ended.

APA reports that the verdict was read in Sumgayit Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Judge Rashad Aliyev.

According to the verdict, Oruj Mammadov was sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Munavvar Jabbarova was given a suspended sentence.

It should be noted that Mammadov Oruj Nusrat oglu, former chairman of the Medical and Social Expert Commission No. 7 of the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, was detained as a result of urgent search operations. A criminal case has been launched under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the General Directorate for Combating Corruption.

Oruj Mammadova was charged under Articles 311.2 (bribery of an official for illegal actions (inaction)) and 312-1.1 (illegal influence on the decision of an official (trafficking in authority)) of the Criminal Code, and the court decided to arrest him.
